How quickly will they learn how to bend?
Flint likes to learn and technically has a strong connection to the earth. He could learn quickly. Scrying might be the hard part for him.
Weapons:
The stone axe he carries. Can grow to massive sizes and has a beam that can fossilize things and later unfossilize them, as well as speak and hop around on its own because it's actually his dad still in fossil form but made into a useful tool.

Appearance:
Flint is a short boy with black hair and eyes. He wears a red loincloth and black shoes and wrist cuffs. He also wears a belt that acts as a remote for his Time Cycle, but that will probably be taken. His hair is tied in an upright tuft, but when left down nearly reaches his knees.
Personality:
Flint is a simple character, being curious and very cheerful, but not that smart even though he does have the occasional bright idea. Dancing, eating, and making friends are his favorite pastimes and he loves his dad more than just about anything else. Food is constantly on his mind, to the point he either mentions it often or thinks new words are a type of food, and he may accidentally eat other people's food without asking or try to eat things that aren't edible.
He's extremely brave and has good intentions, always wanting to help his friends and willing to face any danger to protect a person in need...but he does have moments of selfishness. The sad situations of others or the thought of losing close friends can easily make him cry, but he can usually get over it quickly enough when the situation can be prevented or resolved
He's got no sense of modesty and isn't really a fan of baths, but isn't really good about getting dressed after one either.

Around 1,000,000 B.C. Flint lived happily with his dad. One day while he was fighting a Triceratops, a strange creature suddenly appeared and used a strange power that made them get along. Then a strange trio in a flying ship shaped like a cat head appeared, trying to take the creature who obviously didn't want to go with them. Flint and his dad tried to protect it, with Flint managing to knock the ship down with a big rock. The strangers used a strange weapon to turn Flint's new friend into an egg-shaped fossil and then did the same to Flint and his dad when they still wouldn't give up.
Thankfully an erupting volcano kept the people from taking his friend, but Flint spent millions of years as a fossil with his dad.
Eventually he was discovered by a girl named Sarah far in the future and began trying to talk to her, which prompted her to take him and the egg-shaped fossil to her uncle, who managed to de-fossilize him and his new friend who was a Time Shifter called Getalong. Flint's joy at freedom was short-lived when it turned out his dad was now a slab of rock, but Sarah comforted him and it turned out that his dad could still talk and everything. So Flint could keep him close, he was turned into a useful stone axe.
The people who had fossilized him, Petrifina and her lackeys Dyno and Mite, reappeared to steal Getalong and Flint fought with his dad to protect her and his newest friends, smashing the cat-ship-robot. After that he was made a Time Detective with the specific job to retrieve the Time Shifters and protect them from time criminals like Petrifina. He was also adopted by his new friends and now lives with them at the Bureau of Time and Space.
His first assignment was actually the next day after being coerced into taking his very first bath, traveling to 2nd century Japan in search of Jitterbug. When they arrived, Petrafina had already captured Jitterbug and used him to take over. While initially captured, Flint and friends escaped and confronted Petra again, and managed to get the real ruler back in charge, but when Flint tried to stop Petra from escaping with Jitterbug the Time Shifter was shattered.
When Petra transformed the broken Jitterbug to Jitterbug-Con, Flint was able to get through to him without fighting, freeing him from evil enough to be fossilized so he could be transported home. Afterward all the residents of the village had their memories of the events wiped and the time detectives went home.
Flint was enrolled in the same school as his two adopted siblings
Skills/Abilities:
Great physical strength, endurance, resilience, and a really hard head. Flint can lift and hold off things much bigger than him, apparently by default of being a caveboy. He can recover from strong blows most can't with relative ease even though a strong blow to the head does hurt or may even knock him out for a few minutes.
He's very energetic normally, but gets hungry easily and becomes pretty useless when hungry to the point he can't really put up a fight if he has to. This passes almost immediately once he's eaten something.
